Hello,

I have SQL Server 2012 and MySQL Workbench 6.0 both installed on a Dell XPS 2710 running Windows 8.1.

I cannot get MySQL Workbench to connect to the server using local host. I get the following errror message:

"Connecting to MySQL server localhost... Can't connect to MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' (10061)"

I looked in the Task Manager Services tab to see if the SQL server was running, and it was.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi actually my EER diagram is very big and it does not fit in the default size of the EER view port. So how can i increase the size of the window or view port?

My goal is to use Workbench 6.0.8.11354 build 833 to successfully migrate an SQL Server 2000 db (source) to a local MySQL 5.6.13 db (target) on OS X 10.8.2. I am using the FreeTDS driver (v0.91) to connect to the source. Using the migration wizard, I am able to successfully connect to the source db and implement the source schema locally. I chose the option to translate [database].[schema].[table] into `database`.`table`. Everything appears to work as expected up until the actual data transfer. For the snippets below, I have omitted irrelevant columns to conserve space.

The Workbench-generated schema:

After doing a bit of research, I have come up with a theory. The SQL_NO_TOTAL [constant?] is returned by the SQLGetData() function. According the MSDN documentation, this constant is returned only when the function cannot determine the length of the string which is contained in a field. My best guess is that Workbench is running that function in one way or the other as it migrates data but does not account for null values in fields with string-like types. As a result, NO data is transferred and the migration completes with:

0 tables of 1 were fully copied

So my question is this: Is my issue a bug discovery or is there some other explanation/solution?

I would like the ability to search sql text in workbench 5.2.47. The dialog box is displayed at the top of the page, but the box and buttons are too small to enter data. No way to attache picture here.

I just downloaded the current GA release 6.0.8 of MySQL Workbench (Win32 zip) and would like to check its GnuPG signature with GPG4win, but the signature is not on the download page (http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/tools/workbench/). Signature links are provided for the beta (6.1.1) release but not for the GA release (although MD5 checksums are provided for both). Why are there no signature links for the GA release, and where can I find the signature I need?

we have successfully compiled the mysql workbench on Ubuntu OS,but failed to compile it on Wondows,due to lack of mysql-workbench-externals-1.0-win32 package which we don't know where to download.can anyone help me?

Hi everyone!

I use this Workbench: 6.08.11354 build 833 Community Edition.

I made an EER Diagram with the Model Tool and somehow (after it worked fine at first), all my Tables are now stuck at the top of the window.
It is still possible to alter the property "Top" manually, but i cant drag & drop the tables below x=0. (dragging from left to right works, though)

I searched quite a bit to find an option that i unintentionally turned on(off?) but couldn't find any so far.

Please help :-)

Why, can someone tell me, can I easily install and start to work with Wporkbench 5.2 but I ALWAYS have problems installing version 6.0.8?? Do I need a newer version of microsoft's visual c++ or what?

MySQL Workbench is *almost* the perfect tool for what I need. I am a web developer and I work on a site which runs on SQL Server. Luckily, our site framework permits MySQL data sources. I see a dramatic improvement in response and page loading times when working off of local MySQL databases vs. the remote staging databases.

The WB's ability to spit out a bash script which can subsequently be scheduled to run is AWESOME. Unfortunately, WB does not support the ability to skip already existing rows during a migration. Some of the tables I work with have up to 20 million rows and re-importing them from scratch would take *forever*. When trying to import data into an existing table (with existing rows) I receive an error that a row already exists for the one attempting to be imported. The processing then immediately halts and the table in question is reported as "failing to import".

Are there any future plans for the Migration to give the user the option to "insert or update" based on the existence of current rows? Or perhaps apply the table diff feature to just fetch missing rows? I believe this feature would be EXTREMELY helpful to many people.

Migrating schemas appears to suffer from a similar problem. I only seem to be given the option of not creating the schema if it exists, or dropping the current schema (which would remove all of my data) and re-adding it. It'd be wonderful if schema changes could generate ALTER statements to augment existing tables when applicable.

So...what are the odds of getting this functionality into the app? =]
