I mknow that this is a lot more of a basic SQL problem but I am wondering how I should deal with the nagging error of "Table Already Exists". I am getting sick and tired of always renaming the table like "my_table" to "my_table1". Thanx in advance for any help.

HI I'm new here so I donwloaded the SQL community and installed it, Everything was fine until reach the product configuration then boom blue screen of death appears! The other stuff looks fine when my laptop when back up but the server wasn't installed. There wasn't any folder or icons of MySQL Server

Please I am in need of desperate help because this server is required for my project

Specs:

Intel(R)Core(TM)i3-2310mCPU @ 2.10GHz
2.00 GB
64-bit
Windows 7

I've use MySQL a bit in the past, but just doing basic queries on a database that's already setup.

Now, I'm trying to figure out how to import data from 2 text files. I'm working with Workbench 6.0. I don't know if I have to create a database, per se, or simply import the data and create two tables as the data is imported. I can select Database and Connect to Database, but I don't think I necessarily want to connect to a database. I don't see any way to import files. In SQL Server or Access this would be very simple. I just don't see any way to do it in MySQL. Can someone here give me some guidance?

JHow do I fix or get around this problem w. it saying in the Workbench that I have "too many connections" anyway?? It says this when I try to log back on to the mysql server.

How can I import data from a text file to a Table? Here's my script.

LOAD DATA INFILE 'C:\\Users\\rshuell\\Desktop\\IIF.txt'
INTO TABLE IIF

FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','
LINES TERMINATED BY '\n'

(@var1)

SET MyDate=STR_TO_DATE(@var1,'%d/%m/%Y');

In the 'IIF' table, I have only one field, named 'MyDate'. Here's the contants of my text file:
"7/31/1989"
"7/31/1989"
"7/31/1989"

I've tried this over 60x; with single quotes, double quotes, date & time, date only, and many other combinations. Nothing is working here. I keep getting this error message:
Error Code: 1411. Incorrect datetime value: '"7/31/1989" ' for function str_to_time 0.000 sec

I want to install MySQL Utilities v1.3.6 on my MacBook Pro. I'm confused if I need to separate install 1) Python v2.6.6 (=latest 2.6 binary) and 2) MySQL Connector/Python v1.1.4 (binary)?

Hi all, I need to calculate a lag variable @b and then update this into my RatesTable. Any ideas, I was sure this would work but the value IncenRate updates to null. it is like @b variable does not have a value but it reports the correct value in the select return. Any help is appreciated

I had a database that I imported using MySQL Workbench. I used the database reverse engineering tool to create the model. It did, but it is missing all the connector lines. I had done the same to another database, and it created all the relationship lines. Why did it not work this time for my most recent attempt? Is there a way to create these lines? Thanks I advance.

Why do identifying vs. non-identifying and 1:Many vs. 1:1 foreign key relationships all result in the same code being generated by Workbench? Are these only conceptual differences with no actual referential integrity checks being implemented? I would think that at the very least, some kind of change to the NOT NULL and UNIQUE attributes to the variables if the relationship type is changed. I understand the concepts, I just don't get the implementation.

Hi, I just upgraded to workbench 6.0.8, yesterday. I went ahead and repinned the icon to the taskbar and just noticed it displays a small wrench in the upper right corner. Any idea what this means? I did install the command line utilities but am uncertain if this is relevant. Thanks.

MySQL server is on desktop running Windows 7. IP4: 192.168.1.2 port 3306
laptop is running Vista ip4: 192.168.1.5
Both are running Workbench.

On the desktop Workbench I created a user 'usrname' for host 192.168.1.5
I also set a Windows Firewall rule to open port 3306 to LAN devices

Trying to use the laptop Workbench to access the desktop server, I get "Access Denied for user 'usrname'@'pc-name'

I can access the desktop Apache server to run MySQL applications, but I want to be able to access MySQL directly.

Any suggestions ?

Is there an equivalent to "Linked Servers" in MySQL????

I need to access SQL Server and Oracle. I did the opposite but couldn't access from MySql. I know there is migration wizard....but I need linked server. This is my second post and didn't get response. if someone had this ,please replay to me. If not suggest me third party tool to get linked server.

Hello,

I have SQL Server 2012 and MySQL Workbench 6.0 both installed on a Dell XPS 2710 running Windows 8.1.

I cannot get MySQL Workbench to connect to the server using local host. I get the following errror message:

"Connecting to MySQL server localhost... Can't connect to MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' (10061)"

I looked in the Task Manager Services tab to see if the SQL server was running, and it was.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good day, i'm having a small problem with this:
I'm using the workbench 5.2.47 CE (i don't like the new version so i prefer this, thank you) under windows 7 sp1 x64.

I was happily introducing data in my DB, when my pc froze before i could click on "Apply" to save the data, so i had to hard-reboot; Now i have the following message on the bottom of the main window:

"Orphaned document changes detected
Unsaved changes of an SQL Editor workspace found.
To restore them, open the corresponding SQL connection and save the SQL data..."

All right! I click on "Open connection to start querying" Option at the left (has a small gold/yellow lightning)... All my previous data are there except for the ones i want to recover, those which i was unable to save when the pc clogged.

My question is: Am i doing something wrong? Where and how i have to "open the corresponding SQL connection" to recover my data?
