Connection issue in latest 6.13/6.14 (2 replies)
I found that the latest 2 versions (6.13, 6.14) cannot connect to my MySQL server (5.0.26) in a stable way. It very often reported Lost Connection or Connection has been closed when a query is submitted.
When I fallback to 6.12, however, everything is stable again.

How can i solve this error on MySQL Workbench 6.1: "Runtime Error: Unable to execute command chcp"? (1 reply)
I just installed MySQL workbench 6.1 on my win7 64 bit system. I successfully created and tested a MySQL connection. However, each time i open the SQL editor for this connection and select server status, I get the following errors:
(1) Runtime Exception: Unable to execute command chcp. Please make sure that C:\Windows\System32 directory is in your PATH environment variables
(2) Unhandled exception: current profile has no WMI enabled.
I will be grateful if someone can help resolve this issue. Thanks.

"Generate Catalog Diff Report" Not in the Menu (2 replies)
I have tried MySQL Workbench 6.1 and 5.2 for both Windows and Mac, but I have not been able to find any option that looks like this:

Nor can I find "Generate Catalog Diff Report," which I can clearly see at 6:24 of this tutorial:

This "Compare Schemas" ability is the only reason I downloaded workbench, so I am a little new to the tool. Am I missing something here?

Not able to connect to server (no replies)
Hi,
I'm new in mysql and after a xampp installation, I installed MySql Workbench as well.
I can say that everything works fine when I use PhpAdmin.
But I can't connect to the server from MySql WorkBench.
The message is "Failed to Connect to MySQL at 127.0.0.1:3306 with user root"
"Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 111".
I tried as root user giving the correct password.
In hostname I tried using localhost and 127.0.0.1 as well.
In port, I left 3306.
I also changed from System Profile tab the Configuration File to /opt/lampp/etc/my.cnf (instead of /etc/my.cnf as it was by default).
And one more thing:
When I iseue the command "mysql -uroot -p'password' -h localhost -P 3306" from command line, the command is succesful (I get mysql>).
But when I change "localhost" to "127.0.0.1" (or "192.168.2.4") I get the errmsg
ERROR 2003 (HY000): Can't connect to MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' (111).
The OS is Linux (CentOS).
Any help would be more than welcome.

Mysql Workbench doesn't show all the schemas (no replies)
Hi,
now that I connected from Workbench to mysql installation, I tried to see my databases. So, I choose "Reverse Engineer" and found out 3 schemas (cdcols, phpadmin & test).
But when I use phpmyadmin or even connect from command line, there are 6:

I installed SSH server on my Ubuntu Desktop machine with MySQL server.
I would like to access MySQL on Ubuntu machine from a Windows machine usin Workbench, but unsuccessful to access.
I use TCP/IP over SSH method and use SSH host name and user and password, but fail to connect the server.
Do I need create a certificate from SSH server to copy to Windows machine?
Does Windows machine need install SSH client to access MySQL server on the Ubuntu machine with SSH server?

Can't connect with MySQL Workbench (commercial) over SSL (no replies)
I have gotten MySQL Workbench 6.0.9 commercial edition recently hoping to be able to do automatically scheduled backups (like the old MySQL Admin perhaps), but I can't connect to the server I want to. I have had MySQL Workbench 6.0.7 CE for a long time and have connected to this same server with no problem. I connect to this one over SSL. For another server that doesn't use SSL, I can connect fine with both Workbench versions.
The error I see is:
Your connection attempt failed for user 'blah' from your host to server at 255.255.255.255:3306:
SSL connection error: error:00000001:lib(0):func(0):reason(1)
It sounds like an SSL problem, but the SSL is all good for connecting with the other Workbench and I have all the connection settings the same. I double checked the Parameters, SSL, and Advanced tab to make sure settings were the same.
I'm not sure what's going on here. Any help?
Would it have anything to do with the MySQL server being community edition? Note that I did connect to the other server without SSL just fine.

Foreign key declaration makes crash in Ubuntu (no replies)
Hi,
I am using MySQL 5 (5.5.37-0ubuntu0.14.04.1) and Workbench 6 (6.0.8.11354 build 833) in Ubuntu 14.04.
While defining a simple foreign key, the Workbench crash always. Re-opening it some times solves the problem, but maybe there is a bug.
Here is the output log while running and crashing:
