Stored Procedures not showing in MySQL Workbench 6.3.3 (no replies)

Stored Procedures and Functions do not show in the explorer, the arrow to show there are any isn't there either.

This happened in 6.2.3 I think, all was good until I right clicked and selected refresh all. Before that they were there.

I uninstalled and went back to 6.1.7 and all is fine with viewing them again.

I thought I would try 6.3.3 but still the stored procs are not there, can this be fixed please, real pita.

Also is there a settings file I can delete somewhere that will take me back to a complete new install, maybe this will help?

Database Deployment (no replies)

All,

I am finding it very difficult to find real world documentation on how to deploy a mysql database, basically how do I move the database I have been working on locally on my pc up to say Godaddy? so as I can use it on my web site ?, I have seen similar questions asked in several other forums, but as yet, no one can give a definitive answer, I am using Mysql workbench 5.6, if ANYONE can point my in the direction of a step by step guide to deploy the database I would much appreciate it ( and so would many other people )

Thanks

Workbench 6.3.3 OSX Model Missing Tabs under Physical Schemas (no replies)

I upgraded to 6.3.3 and noticed that the tabs just under the Physical Schemas section in the Model section are not displayed. The tabs themselves appear to be there as I can click on them, but I can't actually see what it is that I am clicking on other than a grey bar.

Just wanted to see if anyone else could reproduce this before I submit a bug.

Pointing WB at the correct ini file (1 reply)

Sys stuff: Win Server 2012 R2 Essentials
MySQL ver is 5.6.22

Ever since I installed 5.6.22 I've not been able to get WB to point to the correct ini file.

Base install dir is G:\MySQL This was established when installing the .22 version

The server starts correctly with the proper ini file. However, when attempting to use WB it says the ini can't be found (in the usual C drive apps place) and insists on putting a new copy at the version.

Today I tried upgrading to the 5.3.3 version of WB and the same thing happens.

How do I point WB at the correct ini file???

My apologies as I am new to MySQL.

I have created an instance of MySQL running on Amazon RDS. I have created several tables and have succesfully connected from MySQL Workbench.

I am trying to run the table data import wizard to load a csv file into my physicians table in MySQL and keep getting the same error:

Any thoughts? I am running out of ideas.

Database but no data? (7 replies)

I'm new to this, yada yada yada...

So I'm using Workbench, reading, watching vids, hunting around and in general hitting my head a lot. A lot of two steps forward, one step back.

I'm using a Linux OS and my intention is to create a database with some spatial data that can be accessed via QGIS.

I've created my EER Diagram and populated three tables, one with non-spatial data, a second with spatial data and a third is an associative table - I have more tables than this, but I'm focusing on testing and framework building first.

I have exported the model into a database format - .mwb
I have connected the database to the server (within my computer I guess)
I have asked QGIS to connect to the MySQL database I created.

And here's where things get screwy:

First, when I try to do a query within Workbench I can call up the column, but no rows are returned. I know there's data in there because in the Model and Diagram side I inserted data into the three tables I previously mentioned.

When I got QGIS to connect to the database, it did, successfully, only to say that there was nothing there.

So, where/how do I access the data/get it to show up?

Thanks.

Unable to create a database schema (no replies)

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 and MySQL workbench community latest edition.

I have installed workbench today on Ubuntu 14.04, but for some reason I could create a database schema. Onn the left side panel when I get into the tab of objects, I see the empty panel, but when I right click, I am unable to create the schema. When I hit the create schema, MySQL is terminating itself.

Please help me

Newbie problems with Workbench config (no replies)

I am trying to bring databases together that I have created and used over the years, starting with one old MySQL one snd one created in LibreOffice Base.

I have taken a newly installed Windows7 64-bit machine and installed the Community Edition, including Workbench.

I then used the import wizard and imported the older MySQL databases across the network. The "Home" tab in Workbench brings up a blackish screen, nothing like the screen shown in the guides and video.

The imported databases are accessible via a light grey panel titled "Local instance". I have manually searched my C drive, but have failed to find where these files are stored.
At the bottom of the screen, I have the Sakila_full models (2 instances), and a Model I have created (also 2 instances) containing a MySQL schema that matches the LibreOffice schema and into which I hope to import the matching csv data. The sakila data is in a MySQL directory "Extras", and the model I have created is stored in one of my Windows User directories.

Is there any guidance anywhere that shows how to organise all this so that everything can be combined into one place and have a simple routine for access to any schema.

Is the my-default.ini file the key to the whole thing? Is there still a way to get to the 3-pane Home screen as shown in the guidance videos?

Workbench 6.3.3 Can only paste into Query window one time (no replies)

When writing code in the Query window, I sometimes like to cut-and-paste from another editor, or paste snippets from other sources. When the code is copied or cut to the clipboard (Windows 7 and Windows 8.1--have this problem on two machines), I can paste it to the Query window. After that, I cannot do any more pastes of any other new clipboard contents--it seems to lock up--pastes nothing. The info is in the clipboard--I can dump the clipboard to other editors, so I know the clipboard is working OK.

In order to get the Workbench working properly, I have to reboot the PC. Then, again I can only paste one time from an external source, and cannot paste any thing else to the Query window.

Can you please tell me what the problem may be--or is this a bug that needs to be fixed?

Thank you.

Migration -- Copying Tables, packet size exceeded (no replies)

I have used the database migration wizard to create scripts and command files to migrate from SQL Server 2008 R2 to MySql 5.6.24. During the copying of data phase (wbcopytables.exe) I am getting "Found record bigger than max_allowed_packet" copying file binary data from a SQL Server VARBINARY(MAX) column to a MySql LONGBLOB column.

The largest file stored in the SQL Server table is less than 3MB. There are other columns in the table, but these are DATETIME columns and a couple of short text columns storing file metadata. The max_allowed_packet setting in the destination database started at 32M, and the innodb_log_file_size started at 100M. I have incrementally increased these settings to 256M and 512M respectively, but am still receiving the max_allowed_packet error. I have read that there is a max_allowed_packet for the client as well, but I'm not sure how to change this value since I am using the wbcopytables.exe to perform the migration as created by the migration wizard.

There are a number of separate instances of the database in question, so I need to come up with a reliable and repeatable way to handle this migration. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Column wise filteration like 5.2.44 version (no replies)

I recently updated from 5.2.44 to 6.3.3.0 on Windows 7 64 bit. In previous version I am using column level filter, where in result grid we right click on any column header and select for `Set Column Filter...` to apply filter on that column likewise WE CAN APPLY FILTERS ON MANY COLUMN AT A SINGLE TIME.

But in new version (6.3.3) right clicking on column header option for `Set Column Filter...` instead of that an textbox is given with label `Filter Rows:` where we can enter any text and it will perform case-insensitive search on all cells/columns in result grid, but because of this I can't apply filter on multiple column at a single time.

Is there any way to use previous version filtering option? Or in newer version can we achieve multiple column filter?

Hi,
what is the reason to the following problem?

17:07:56 update t2 set system='VG' where system='OK' Error Code: 1175. You are using safe update mode and you tried to update a table without a WHERE that uses a KEY column To disable safe mode, toggle the option in Preferences -> SQL Editor and reconnect. 0.000 sec
