Feature Request: Only show database names in generated SQL queries if necessary (no replies)

When applying changes that have been made in the Result Grid, the SQL Script is always shown with fully-qualified table names, including the database name, even if the default database has been set or there is only 1 database.

I like to copy those SQL queries (select > CTRL+C) so I can paste them into other environments to run. Those other environments have the same table names, but sometimes different database names. Therefore I have to edit the queries in a text editor to change or remove the database name from them before pasting and running them in the other environment.

So I would like a feature to not show database names in generated queries. It might be a button or checkbox on the "Apply SQL Script to Database" window. Or it might be a preference such as "Only show database names in generated SQL queries if necessary" (i.e. There is more than 1 database and no default database has been selected).

As a reference, in DBeaver the feature is a "Use fully qualified names" checkbox on the "Preview changes" window (although unfortunately the box has to be unchecked every time).

Hi team,
I'm a new user to MySQL, using Macbook M1 chip
I downloaded Community lates ARM version and MySQL Workbench ARM version as well.
The server never ran in my laptop neither when I tried 'mysql.server start' in the terminal nor starting MySQL server in the System Settings.
Please help.

I see below error when I enter command in the shell 'mysql.server start'

ERROR! The server quit without updating PID file

I tried

sudo chown -R mysql:mysql /usr/local/mysql
sudo chmod -R 777 /usr/local/mysql

and started reboot yet still not working.

I cannot connect to my database (no replies)

Hi everyone,

This will be a weird one to explain and i'm not sure if this is the place to do it but idk what to do anymore so here i am.

A bit of backstory: all the problems started when i tried to connect my database to a Java program that i wrote, but i spelled my password wrong. After this i panicked an deleted that Java project because i started getting errors in Workbench saying that im entering my password wrong. Now its been a while since i tried to solve this problem and i'm completely clueless. I tried deleting everything having to do with MySQL and downloading it again but that didnt work and now i'm getting an even weirder error. When i click on local instance under "my connections" and i enter the passowrd that i'm sure is right i get the error "cannot connect to database server" and then it lists 4 things which might be the reason why. the 4th point is the weirdest, saying "Make sure you are both providing a password if needed". I really dont know how to solve this and could use some help.

I would like ask can anyone help me with this problem. I am just newly started a course that using mysql workbench. On attachment I draw line that I can't see. When I clicked it opens but I can't see icons on left navigator and bottom. If someone knows that how to solve this please let me know.

The vertical toolbar (https://dev.mysql.com/doc/workbench/en/wb-vertical-toolbar.html) is missing in the latest version (8.0.36) on MacOS Sonoma.
There is seems to be no workaround as it is impossible to downgrade version due to fact that any earlier version does not work on MacOS Sonoma.

I am having trouble importing a UTF-8 MS Access export that contains Japanese code points

The export file contains https://ja.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/パイン_(企業)

After import I see https://ja.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/パイン_(企業)

For the MySQL database

The Server connection collation is utf8_bin (although I have tried several UTF8's)
The Server Charset is UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)

Any suggestions would be great

Tables and database crashing, rows being deleted (no replies)

My MySQL tables and whole MySQL server started few months crashing.

After some time after I realized that some rows in almost all tables started missing (sometimes few a day, once 15000 rows at once in one table). In some tables were generated strange numbers.

I reinstalled system. DB restored copying data files into data folder whole database (I started to backup DB by copying data folder about 2 years ago with no problems).

I realized that some values in rows are being changed!

I am repairing crashed tables almost every day using mysql function or phpmyadmin.

I run DB on 7 yeas old SSD used at HP Z240 as a CAD machine.

Can someone help?

Windows 10, EasyPHP 14.1., Apache, phpMyAdmin, PHP and Python using MySQL. MySQL version 5.6.15. No issues with free space on drive.
