MySQL workbench does not show any values updated after last connect time (no replies)

Hello Team,
I am using MySQL workbench to connec to MySQL database. I am facing an issue that MySQL workbench does not show any updates happened to the table after my connection is initiated to the database.

For example, Let's say I connect to MySQL database at 10 AM, I am not able to see any updates/inserts happened after 10 AM. Everytime I reconnect the session to see the updated value.

I am not sure if this is a problem with MySQL. Appreciate your help on solution to this problem. I tried using SQL workbench also, but still the problem exists.

Regards,
Mohamad Ashik

Suppose we mysqldump to > db.sql. Is there any free tool to turn the sql file into diagrams showing tables and their relationships?

Why? This is a friends deal but they have an existing situation and they have a requirement to produce documentation that includes these types of images/diagrams.

MS SQL to MySQL and the Workbench - Several Issues (no replies)

I'd like to migrate some MSSQL data to MySQL and tried a few tools (SQLyog, etc) and most say that the MySQL Workbench should work.

Well I first had MariaDB setup on an Ubuntu 16.04 LTS box and found that the workbench is just not happy with it. So removed all that and did a stock installation of MySQL from the Ubuntu repos.

I'm still having an issue. I'm not against paying for the workbench, if it makes a difference, but would like to see if it meets my needs before I do so.

I CAN connect and issue queries on my box as a standard user locally using: mysql -u root -p

I CAN also connect via SSH tunnel to this box from SQLyog remotely on same LAN. So everything should be setup correctly permission-wise.

I CAN connect to the database using the workbench on the same LAN, but I cannot do a migration using the migration wizard.

Can someone give me some guidance. I think the migration wizard is lying about the connection attempt.

Thanks.

Some logs from the migration attempt.....

I updated MySQL workbench about 2 weeks ago. Today I opened the workbench and the server management options are just gone. When I click on the server menu item nothing. And the management window in the navigation panel is blank. I did not change anything from Monday when it was working just fine. Any help appreciated.

Cannot connect using Workbench, can using ODBC (no replies)

I having an existing remote connection to a MySQL database using ODBC so that a legacy application can connect & query. The connection works fine only using the ODBC 3.51 driver configured 32bit. It doesn't work 64bit and won't work with the v5.3 ODBC driver.

When trying to connect using the Workbench v6.3 I get the message 'Malformed packet' when clicking Test Connection with a 'Standard (TCP/IP)' setup to match the ODBC setup.

How can I configure the Workbench connection to work with this connection, either the ODBC or (even better) the 'Standard (TCP/IP)' setup?

Faster/more reliable way to delete millions of rows? (no replies)

Hello! I'm in the process of working on an independent study project for one of my professors at CSUF, and have been requested to import a huge database dump (>40,000,000 rows of data) and do some work with it. I'm attempting to use a delete where one of the columns doesn't equal zero,

delete from table
where column <> 0;

and it's taking forever, and I've been running into issues and having to restart the query. Is there a better way?

Thanks!

When I try to change the priveleges on a mysql db I get the following error:

Please make sure the used account has rights to the MySQL grant tables. Error executing 'DESCRIBE mysql.db'

Is this also why it will not let me import tables in from another DB? When i try I get the error:

Operation failed with exitcode 1

09:20:16 Restoring D:\design and photos\boo.com\db dump\070113.sql

Running: mysql.exe --defaults-extra-file="c:\users\darren\appdata\local\temp\tmpslubjs.cnf" --host=87.117.239.19 --user=boo8_yu52 --port=3306 --default-character-set=utf8 --comments < "D:\design and photos\boo.com\db dump\070113.sql"

ERROR 1044 (42000) at line 1: Access denied for user 'boo8_yu52'@'%' to database ' boo8_6652'

It does however let me create tables manually. Can't work it out at all.

Database synchronize model can not recognize source table (no replies)

Workbench 6.3.9 build 10690321 community
mysql 5.7.18

I just create new model, and synchronize database everything is ok.
but when i just add only one json field, synchronize database will be abnormal. It will synchronize the model to database at first time, but when i check again, or just change the model source, int the 'Select Changes to Apply' step, the source table is always N/A, it can not recognize the table name from destination database.

the model schema is mydb->table1,
id bigint
test json

which will reappear the result.

any idea?

I am following the example from the tutorial. Alas all I get is a syntax error message. Statement is as follows:

DELIMITER $$

CREATE PROCEDURE `classimodels`.'GetALLProducts' ()
BEGIN
SELECT * FROM products;

END

Relatively new to MySQL but not SQL in general. Help will be appreciated.

Suggestion: Add an 'Are you sure?' popup (no replies)

How about adding a popup asking for confirmation if "Create DROP SCHEMA" is checked when Forward engineering? (Yes, and please don't ask..) Perhaps with some info text about what's going to happen(I know what DROP SCHEMA means, but periodically I don't use MWB that much, so I forget the settings listed), and perhaps a "Don't show this again" tick.

Just installed mysql 5.7.18 on windows 7 64bit.

Tried running Server->Data Export but got a message that mysqldump was version 5.7.17 and that the export might not have all the mysql features in it.

Under the workbench folder there is a mysqldump.exe dated 1/3/2017.
Under mysql server folder there is a mysqldump.exe date 3/18/2017.

running mysqldump -V gets 5.7.17 for the workbench version and
5.7.18 for the server version
