Measure queries / second in a limited period (no replies)

Dear all,

sorry if this seems a silly question or what, but I have been spending hours searching for help about this point, unsuccessfully.

I need to estimate the query rate in a limited period of time. Then, I cannot use the average number of queries per second I obtain from the 'status' command. I have seen something about GLOBAL_STATUS and SESSION_STATUS, but I don't know well how to use them.

I need to do the following: define two date/times or two timestamps and estimate the number of queries executed in that interval. This is needed also to monitor the query rate in different periods of the day.

Thanks in advance for any help.
