I am trying to study SQL through a book that teaches MySQL and I have followed all of the books instructions as to how to install MySQL. I managed to install the MySQL workbench, but there is this continuous problem that I have where the program refuses to allow me to connect to the servers properly.
"Your connection attempt failed for user 'root' to the MySQL server at 127.0.0.1:3306: Access denied for user'root'@localhost'(using password:YES)"
I have tried changing the port number. I deleted the server and made a new one. I change passwords. I did everything I could think of, but the problem does not go away. And this issue is now officially getting in the way of my ability to learn SQL in MySQL. Can someone please help me with this problem.
I am very new to databases, SQL and MySQL. I have no idea how to solve this specific problem. The book that I am using does not talk about this kind of issue during installation. It just assumes everything has worked.
